Registrations are now open for the Carrowholly 5km Run or Walk Fundraiser — a family-friendly event taking place on Sunday 14 June 2026 at Carrowholly National School, Rusheen, Westport, Co. Mayo.
About the event
The Carrowholly 5km is a fundraiser for the local community — open to runners, walkers, families, adults, and children. With a scenic route in the shadow of Croagh Patrick and the warm atmosphere that only a community event brings, it's a brilliant day out for all ages and abilities.
The U12s 750m fun run gets underway at 10:45am, with the main 5km starting at 11:00am. Race HQ is at Carrowholly National School, with parking available at Westport Rugby Club (approximately 550m walk to the school — please car share where possible).

Ticket options & pricing
- Adult 5K — €15 + booking fee. Includes the option to also register the free Under 12s 750m dash (adult required).
- Youth & Teen (12–18) — €10 + booking fee. Parent or guardian required as emergency contact.
- Family — €30 + booking fee. Covers 2 adults and up to 4 children under 12.
Registering the U12s 750m
To register a child for the Under 12s 750m, an adult must also register for the 5K. Select your adult ticket first, then add the number of U12 entries required on the next step. All children U8 and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the 5km event.

Carrowholly National School is located at Rusheen, Westport, Co. Mayo — Eircode F28 VX94. There is no parking at the school — please car share and park at Westport Rugby Club, from where it is a 550m walk to collect race numbers at the school.
