You connect your own Stripe account. Payments go directly to you.
diidum Managed
We handle everything — payments, comms, and data — on your behalf.
Free events
Hosting a free event? No diidum fee applies. We only charge when paid registrations are processed. A free Stripe account is still required if you wish to use Stripe Connect for future paid events.

Our recommendation
For most events, we recommend passing fees on to the attendee by adding a small booking fee at checkout. This is industry standard — platforms like Eventbrite, RunSignUp, and Ticketmaster all do this. Attendees expect a booking fee and it is clearly shown before payment.
If your event is community-focused or price-sensitive, absorbing the fee and building it into a round ticket price (e.g. €25 instead of €23.50) keeps things simple for attendees.
Pricing questions
Common questions about fees
The diidum fee is deducted automatically at the point of each transaction — you don't need to do anything. For Stripe Connect organisers, Stripe deducts both the diidum fee and Stripe's own processing fee before paying the remainder into your account.
No. Platform and payment processing fees are non-refundable in all circumstances, including event cancellations and attendee no-shows. If you issue a refund to an attendee, the refund will cover the ticket price only — fees already paid are not returned. See our Refund Policy for full details.
For the Stripe Connect (5%) plan, Stripe charge their standard rate of 1.5% + €0.25 per successful card transaction for European Economic Area (EEA) cards. Non-EEA cards may attract a higher rate — check Stripe's pricing page for your region. For the diidum Managed (8%) plan, Stripe fees are included in the 8% — there are no additional charges.
Yes. You can choose a different plan for each event you run. If you start on diidum Managed and later want to use Stripe Connect for a future event, just let us know and we'll help you get set up.
For diidum Managed events, we collect payments on your behalf and pay you out after the event on an agreed schedule. The exact timing is confirmed during your event setup. If you need an interim payment for a large or long-running event, just ask and we'll arrange it.
VAT treatment depends on your location and the nature of your event. We recommend consulting your accountant or tax advisor to understand how VAT applies to platform fees in your specific situation. diidum will provide transaction records and fee summaries to support your bookkeeping.
